<p><strong>#1  Create a build up to the launch event.</strong> Post any sneak peeks, samples, and testimonials for the product a few days before the event. Part of a successful launch is the anticipation of the new product. Twitter is a great way to help create anticipation. </p>
<p><strong>#2  Offer special incentives. </strong>You can also offer a limited viewing to the first 100 visitors and post the offer on Twitter. Some marketers request the first 100 DMs, others request retweets, RT, and others just post a link to their website. This is also a great way to gauge interest in your pending product and may provide valuable information about how to fine tune or tweak the product before the official launch.<span id="more-834"></span></p>

Always keeping in mind that your goal is to help your customers and prospects, to solve their problems and improve their life.</p>

Business owners are smart to tap into these tools to drive traffic to their sites, yet many are missing the mark. Here&#8217;s how to lure social media traffic to your website.</p>
<p>1. <strong>Offer insight about your industry.</strong> When you’re online at your social networking site of choice it’s absolutely important to participate, but how you participate can make all the difference. If you’re merely commenting about what you had for dinner and your new car, then you’re not optimizing the site or your time. Instead, make sure to offer insight about your industry. This doesn’t mean every post has to link to an article or post of yours. </p>
<p>You can link to relevant content on other sites, offer quotes and data. So while it’s great to share your personality on these sites, it’s also important to establish your credibility and authority. Provide relevant and useful information, and people will automatically go to your site to learn more about you and what you have to offer.<span id="more-652"></span></p>
<p>2. <strong>Use attention-grabbing headlines.</strong> Embrace copywriting techniques and post curiosity-driven headlines. Use questions &#8211; for example, “Do you want to know how to make $100 in 5 minutes?” You can also use comments, controversy, how-to statements and other attention-grabbing headlines. Don’t forget scarcity and urgency too. “Only one day left to grab your copy of________”  </p>
<p>3. <strong>Offer giveaways.</strong> People still like getting something for free and you can promote your freebies and giveaways on social networking sites. Reports, online courses or tutorials, blueprints, ebooks and video and audio content are all great ways to motivate traffic to your site.</p>
<p>4. <strong>Use special promotions for your unique social media audience.</strong> If you have Facebook fans, consider offering them special promotions for signing up and for being a fan. You can do the same thing if you have a twitter account and so on. Consider giving each new friend/follower a coupon via a direct message to them. That coupon will motivate them to at least visit your website and may turn them into a customer or subscriber.</p>
<p>Be willing to test and track to see what works. You can create a special webpage to drive <a href="http://548fb9z761es3u6evpr57c7w3h.hop.clickbank.net/">social networking traffic</a> to. You can even duplicate that page and use a unique URL for each site you participate on. This way you can track your traffic from each post and from each social networking site to see what works. It’s a great way to gain insight to your audience and to ensure you’re optimizing your time and efforts. </p>

It&#8217;s free, and an excellent way to create something similar to a website.  But just like a traditional website, you need traffic and a good looking site with helpful information that people are looking for in order to make money with it.</p>
<p>As I&#8217;ve grown in my knowledge about Squidoo, I have some insights and tips to share that I&#8217;ve attempted to arrange in a logical fashion here.</p>
<p><strong>Lens topics:</strong></p>
<p>* It&#8217;s not absolutely necessary, but it&#8217;s much easier to do a lens on something you&#8217;re knowledgeable on or are passionate to learn about.<br />
* It has NOT all been done before. Find a unique angle on a popular topic.<br />
* What questions are asked the most in a particular niche? Create a lens around those.<br />
* Cruise through ClickBank and find a product that&#8217;s a winner based on ClickBank&#8217;s stats.  Do your lens on that subject.<br />
* Check Alexa.com for their hottest URLs.  Those ought to give you some ideas.<br />
* Here&#8217;s something I first heard from Seth Godin, the head Squid; turn one of your best blog posts into a lens. The info is already there on your blog; now use it to create a lens.<span id="more-638"></span></p>
<p><strong>How to make your lens better:</strong></p>
<p>* Ask for a lens critique from a Squidoo expert. Many of them will give you suggestions on how to improve your lens.<br />
* Add photos, like from Flickr. Relevant photos make your lens look better and people will click on the attached link.<br />
* Research the modules and have some fun with them. Your lens shouldn&#8217;t be boring &#8211; add a sticky note, a countdown, or a talk bubble, for example.<br />
* Add a list.  People love Top 10 lists or any sort of list because they are quick and easy to read.<br />
* Put your guestbook at the end, because when people sign it, they&#8217;re heading out the door.</p>
<p><strong>To get traffic:</strong></p>
<p>* Write an article about the same topic and submit it to EzineArticles with your link to your lens.<br />
* Comment on dofollow higher page rank blogs.<br />
* Answer someone through Yahoo Answers.<br />
* Have your link in your sig line when posting on forums.<br />
* Submit your Squidoo lens to Lensroll.com<br />
* Tweet your lens on Twitter.<br />
* In your lens, use an Email This Page to a Friend badge.</p>
<p><strong>Make money:</strong></p>
<p>* Create a network of lenses around a subject. If one lens starts getting high traffic, your other lenses related to the same subject are bound to get traffic and sales too.<br />
* View your Squidoo lens as a customer would. Are you providing them with all the information they would like to know about an affiliate product you&#8217;re promoting?<br />
* It goes without saying that you want to sell stuff with your Squidoo lens.  Figure out if you&#8217;re selling the right products using the right vehicles/modules/tools by experimenting and tracking your results.<br />
* Since you&#8217;re using Squidoo, you might as well promote it and make some money through your Squidoo affiliate link.</p>
<p>Squidoo works well for driving traffic to your site, branding yourself, and making affiliate profits.  Take these tips and make your Squidoo experience even better.</p>
